Owens-Illinois Expands Globally

Owens-Illinois Inc has completed two strategic acquisitions serving markets in Eastern Europe and made investments to expand capacity in latin America in an effort to strengthen its international presence. The company acquired the largest glass container manufacturers in Hungary, Estonia and Finland in its aim to capitalize on the emerging markets of Eastern Europe. Owens-Illinois purchased Orosglas Kft (Hungary), and plants in Jarvakandi, Estonia and Karhula, Finland from the Finnish company A Ahlstrom Corp.
