Owens Corning India Ltd is setting up a US$400m plant in the central Indian state of Maharashtra, with production capacity of 30,000 tonnes of fibre glass reinforcements. The plant is equipped to expand capacity to 90,000 tonnes per year. Owens Corning India Ltd. is establishing the fibre glass plant in a joint venture with Mahindra and Mahindra. According to a recent report, the plant is scheduled to supply 75% of its production to the global composites market and 25% of the production will be made available for sale in India. (whole item)
