The Swedish investment company Scandinavian Equity Partners (SEP) recently announced that, along with the Danish luxury goods maker Royal Copenhagen, it had bought Proventus' 42.5% stake in the three companies Swedish consortium, Orrefors Kosta Boda Holding AB. As a result, SEP will hold 63.8% of share capital in the Swedish glassmaker Orrefors Kosta Boda Holding AB while Royal Copenhagen will own 36.2%. According to reports in the Danish press, the brewer Carlsberg is planning to sell its 83% stake in Royal Copenhagen as part of a major restructuring operation. The disposal of Royal Copenhagen could further affect the future ownership of Orrefors Kosta Boda. SEP's MD Conni Jonsson said SEP would be interested in buying Royal Copenhagen if Carlsberg wanted to sell. (whole item)
