Optical Thickness Inspection System

Designed for use in glass container manufacturing, the Optical Thickness Inspection System (OPTIS), from AGR International Inc, is a non-contact thickness measurement system that can work in conjunction with existing rotary inspection stations. The measuring technique incorporates high intensity light beams to measure the thickness of the container. Wall thickness up to 0.20in (5mm) can be measured in up to four locations over the body of a container. The system can reduce incidences of damage to the container, measure areas where decoration is present and measure curved and radius regions of a bottle such as the heel and shoulder.
