Optical Radiation

The Dutch Presidency wants to make a priority in the coming months of the draft proposal of the Commission for daughter Directive on physical agents, i.e. optical radiation. This follows the other daughter Directives already adopted: noise; vibrations; and recently, electromagnetic fields. The Council has therefore prepared a revised proposal on which the national Council delegations have been asked for an opinion. In the proposal itself, Article 2 gives clear definitions of the terminology. Article 3 refers to limit values as set out in Annexes I and II. The glass industry is explicitly mentioned in the memorandum. To download a copy of the proposal, please see: register.consilium.eu.int/pdf/en/04/st10/st10678.en04.pdf
