O-I Reports Strong Business Performance

Second quarter results from O-I show stable net sales of US$ 1.8bn and an 8% increase in operating profits at US$ 252m. More than half the increase was generated in Latin America, which benefited from sales gain and the early adoption of a total systems cost approach to managing structural costs. A 10% improvement in Europe was primarily driven by higher production volume and continued success in improving total systems costs.
