O-I has finalised plans to cease production at its Atlanta plant in Georgia. The closure was expected to have taken place by July 2018, impacting around 250 jobs. The company remains strongly focused on optimising the overall efficiency of and investments in its regional plant network. The required capital outlay for the Atlanta operations and continued decline of beer in the US market influenced the decision to close the plant.
