Nihon Yamamura Glass Co Ltd., the Japanese bottle producer, announced its six-month results to 30 September 1998, together with forecasts for the year to 31 March 1999. For the half-year ending 30 September 1998, Yamamura recorded sales worth 32.08bn yen, down from 33.07bn yen. This resulted in net losses of 2.48bn yen, down on the previous profit of 403m yen. For the full year, ending 31 March 1999, the company forecast an increase in sales from 62.5bn yen to 71bn yen, with net losses of 800m yen compared to the previous year's profit of 18m yen.
