New Whisky Bottle From O-I

O-I has developed a range of new bottles for Highland Park, the successful single malt Scotch whisky. The packaging redesign is part of an £18M global investment plan to double annual sales of the spirit over the next 5 years to make Highland Park one of the world's top ten malts. Modernisation of the pack was done with the aim of attracting new customers while retaining the loyalty of traditional clients who appreciate the products distinctive taste. Designers from Pearlfisher and O-I worked together to create a highly embossed container to capture the essence of the brand identity in glass. Two versions were created to hold whisky of different ages. O-I overcame challenging manufacturing issues, particularly in achieving the correct vacuity and bore control in the short and narrow bottle neck, in meeting the technically complex pack design.
