New Thermometer Improves Float Glass Temperature Measurement

Land Infrared has introduced an important version of its unique, application-specific JRG thermometer for accurate surface temperature measurement of float glass. The new JRG/A is a convenient means of checking that glass temperatures are uniform or within carefully controlled gradients across the float bath, and during cooling and annealing. Its operating waveband is precesely defined at 4.8 to 5.2 microns, which means that it can be used to monitor very thin glass. It is intended for spot temperature surveys during commissioning of new plant, setting-up of a new run and on-going quality control duties.
