New Standard Glass Samples

The Analysis & Properties Technical Committee of the Society of Glass Technology has completed its analysis of two new certified references for amber and green coloured glasses. The standard samples are now available, following approval by Council of the Society of Glass Technology in November 2000. The samples are available in the form of glass pieces and as 40mm diameter discs. They are intended for the verification of analytical methods, such as those used by the participating laboratories, for the calibration of analytical instruments in cases where the calibration of primary substances (pure stoichiometric compounds) is not possible and also for establishing secondary reference materials.
