New Specification On Chemically-Strengthened Glass Available

When glass is too thin or complex in shape to be fortified by thermal tempering, an ion-exchange process is often applied to chemically-strengthened glass for laboratory and optical equipment, architectural, transportation, and security applications. Recognizing a need for a specification on chemically-strengthened glass that would assist glass producers and end users to identify its types and applications, a task group of Subcommittee C14.08 on Flat Glass under Committee C-14 on Glass & Glass Products has developed Standard C 1422 "Specification for Chemically Strengthened Flat Glass". The standard can be ordered by email from ASTM on: service@astm.org or see their website www.astm.org
