A New Quantiative Method For Na Out Diffusion From Float Glass

This paper describes a new, fast, and dry method for sodium out diffusion analyses from a float glass. The method consists of the colouring level determination of previously calibrated electrochromic, EC, layer deposited on the glass surface. Integrated differential transmittance spectra of the glass/EC system measured before and after heat treatment is proportional to the forming colour of amount of Na diffused from glass into EC film.
