[New Publication From Camra] Good Beer From A Bottle

To CAMRA, bottled means bottle conditions and each year compiler Jeff Evans gets more beers to include. 2008 saw SIBA members report a 50% increase in the volume of beer its members put into glass. When CAMRA was formed in 1971, there were 5 such beers, the first edition of this guidebook in 1998 managed to scrape together 180, and this new edition has 1300. A pleasing trend is the regional brewers with bottle conditioned offerings. The book has a list of brewers and its bottles including a handful of lagers. Some 44 brewers are offered rosettes for consistency over the years. The main colourful section of 500 beers has packshots, brewery background and tasting notes but it is classified into sections which can make finding a beer tricky without going to the index. The book costs £12.99, ISBN: 9781 8524 92625
