New Optical Fibre For Greater Bandwidth

Schott has announced a new broadband erbium-doped fibre, which will provide up to 50% more bandwidth. It is based on Schott's newly developed compact oxide glass. The fibre requires significantly less space and therefore permits more compact designs for amplifiers and telecommuniating equipment. With this new medium, Schott is expanding its successful product range of erbium-doped phosphate glasses for planar waveguide amplifiers. (whole item)
