Tungi is a cactus pear spirit made since 1857 on the Atlantic island of Saint Helena where Napoleon was incarcerated. Launched at May's London International Wine & Spirits Fair, it is produced in a limited annual volume from a small family distillery and can be served neat over ice or as part of a cocktail. The spirit is said to be hand-distilled and distinctive in taste and style. The Tungi Stairs Flask, a most unusual glass container in the form of a staircase, represents St Helena's Jacobs Ladder landmark. The ladder is the world's longest straight staircase, raising more than 1000 ft up a sheer cliff above the distillery.
