A new generation of tungsten carbide glass shear blades for gob forming shear systems has been launched by Italian firm Turmond. The shear blades have achieved impressive results for cut quality and lifetime in customer trials, according to Turmond, and should enable container and hollow glass producers to realise improved productivity and quality, and reduce costs.
