New Furnace Helps Crt Recycling

Nulife Glass is offering to supply to other companies its specially-designed electric furnace that can reclaim lead from television glass. The process can reclaim 95% of the lead from crushed cathode ray tube (CRT) glass, whose lead content can be as high as 20%. A lot of the leaded CRT glass recycled in the UK is currently exported for use in producing new CRTs, but CRT television and computer monitor sales are starting to decline around the world as customers prefer flat screens. Nulife's system uses the electricity to separate the lead from the glass so they can be tapped off separately.
