Nestle Sells Glass Plant

Nestle has sold its Verreries de Languedoc glass container plant in France to private capital company Financiere de la Croix-Blanche. The workforce is expected to be halved to around 200 people. It is reported that technical support will be provided by Saint-Gobain. The plant was set up in 1973 to make green glass bottles for Perrier waters & was acquired by Nestle with the Perrier business. It is reported that the new owners are willing to invest up to 30M Euros over the next few years.
