Mouldable Refractory Sheet

Zircar Refractory Composites Inc, Florida, USA, has introduced the refractory sheet type RS-A Moldable. This is a tough ceramic fibre reinforced insulation, containing no asbestos and ideally suited for a wide range of high temperature, high thermal shock applications. It is a wet blanket that can easily be formed into a wide variety of simple and complex shapes. Drying results in a strong rigid shape that can be wet again to restore the original flexibility. Firing irreversibly removes the flexibility, leaving it unaffected by moisture. The product was developed for a number of applications, including induction coil liners and molten metal transport.
