More Bottle Banks To Encourage Recycling

PLM Redfearn has announced a £500,000 investment in another 3000 bottle banks to be placed at local authorities and retail sites throughout the UK in an attempt to improve the country's recycling record. The announcement was made during a plant tour by HRH The Duke of Kent, who added a jar to a bottle bank to mark the millionth tonne of glass recycled by PLM since 1977. Part of Rexam UK Packaging, PLM works in partnership with Glass Recycling UK Ltd, which collects and cleans the glass. The new banks should bring the UK's total to over 8000. In a separate news release, it was announced that PLM Redfearn will be known as Rexham Glass Barnsley Ltd from 3 April, 2000.
