[Mikdivua] Glass Producer Invests In New Equipment

Fabrica de Sticla din Chisinau, the state-owned Moldovan glass producer, has, according to Moldova's Economy Ministry, spent US$ 2.4 for the acquisition & installation of new packaging equipment. The new equipment, acquired from Italian Emmeti, will allow the company to improve the quality of its products' packaging and their safety during transportation, the ministry said in a statement 3 April. Fabrica de Sticla's director general Valerii Mesca said that most of the invested funds came from the company's own sources. Fabrica de Sticla posted Lei 6.7M net profit in 2008, increased over 5 times from 2007, the ministry said. The company, which employs 800, exports to 15 countries, including Romania, Bulgaria & Russia.
