Farrington Oils has launched its new Mellow Yellow Chilli Oil in a glass bottle that looks rather like a lava lamp, with chilli flakes floating in the cold-pressed rapeseed oil. The oil can be used for high temperature cooking as well as barbecuing, drizzling and dipping. "We have been eager to develop a chilli oil for some time now," said Duncan Farrington "but we were keen to create something with flavour and not just heat, as often experienced when using a chilli essence. By naturally infusing chilli flakes in our Mellow Yellow rapeseed oil, we have created a recipe with a balanced taste, starting with buttery undertones, building to a full chilli flavour, finishing with a punch of zing and heat." Since the launch in April, the oil has gained listings with butchers, delis and independents.
