Materials For Inside And Outside The Furnace

Hepworth Refractories has recently introduced two products aimed at the glass industry. Vertaform 160 is a tempered, dense aluminosilicate material designed for the bottom and sidewalls of melting furnaces. Comprising 48% alumina, the product is precision cast to net size using high quality moulding techniques and tempering. The second product is a reusable furnace insulation system, Drilok. Used for the initial insulation of the larger areas of the furnace side and end walls, the bricks have regular male and female cone shapes on them allowing them to be built into stable, fixed constructions, without the need for mortar.
