Material Focus - Packaging

Now that the first set of packaging recovery note (PRN) supply figures have been released, this article reports on materials performance at the first reporting point of the year. The stand-out figure was paper, where it was reported for Q1 the material is 140,000/tonnes behind estimated demand. The article reports how the glass market has produced close to target, with remelt once again making up the aggregate shortfall. It points out there is still work to be done, with growth of 40,000/tonnes required next quarter if prices are to remain at current levels.
