Container glass continues its growth in Asia. The trade in all types of containers in general is expanding year-on-year, while the growth of sales of drink and beverage bottles is considerably depending on front and back yard linkage industries, packaging beer, drinks, beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foods, and others. Despite a rise in production costs due to higher energy prices, major regional players such as O-I Asia-Pacific, and Thailand-based major container glass group Berli Jucker, are expecting better operational results in 2011. This article takes a look at how Far East container glass makers are set to enjoy a more prosperous 2012, after a difficult last 12 months.
