Saint-Gobain and Pilkington are to build a float glass line in the Bogota region of Colombia. The Colombian group Sur Americana will hold at 25% stake in the company. the remaining 75% will belong to a holding, of which 51% will be owned by Saint-Gobaina nd 49% by Pilkington. Separetely, Saint-Gobain is to build a glass fibre textile plant in Mexico. The plant, which will have a capacity of 24,000 tonnes, is expected to be operational by the second half of 1999. The move is part of the group's plans to increase its glass fibre production capacity in North America.
