[Malta] New Farsons Plant Gets Go-Ahead

Maltese brewer Farsons is to build a new 14M Euros brewhouse, QC Laboratory and water treatment plant alongside the existing brewery at Mriehel on the island. This is the culmination of a 40M Euros capital spend on a soft drinks packaging hall and a distribution centre which was completed in 2007. Construction will begin in the summer and the new brewhouse is expected to be operational by 2012. A decision on how best to utilise the old brewery buildings will be taken later.
