Malaysia - Source Reduction And Recycling Of Household Solid Waste In Malaysia

Due to Malaysia's fast growing economy, the population has become more affluent, industrialised and urban, and not surprisingly generates more municipal solid waste (MSW). Most Malaysian municipalities face serious problems in getting new waste disposal facilities. As a result, cities need to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of MSW management. In this paper the authors report on the current approach to improving waste management practices in Malaysia.
