[Malaysia] Politicians Urge Glass Manufacture

Sarawak's Chief Minister recently suggested that manufacturers look into the possibility of producing glass bottles and containers. He said this is because glass is more environmentally-friendly than plastic. In addition, Sarawak has abundant raw materials that can be used to make glass. Speaking at the launch of Fraser and Neave (F&N) new UHT line, he added: "Plastic is causing problems to the environment and perhaps glass production is an area the corporate sector can explore."
