Malaya Glass Forms Chinese Container Jv

Malaya Glass Products Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd Malaysia, has entered into a agreement with Sichuan-based Tuopai Yeast Liquor Co Ltd, to establish a joint venture glass company, "Sichuan Malaya Glass Co Ltd" in Sichuan Province of the People's Republic of China. Construction work on the new factory commenced in November 2001 and is expected to be completed mid-September 2002, with commercial operations starting in October 2002. Estimated production is expected to be around 80,000/tpa.
