Magners Cider Runaway Success Leaves Stores Dry

Major multiples have run out of some packs of Magners as the Irish cider's supply shortages continue. Sainsbury's is dry on 1-litre glass bottles, but hoped they would be back very soon. A Sainsbury's spokeswoman said: "We have just received deliveries of the 4x50cl cans and the 1-litre bottles are expected from next week." Somerfield also experienced similar problems. Magners plans to double the size of its production facilities in Tipperary to keep up with surging demand for the drinks as it continues to advertise heavily across the UK.
