Lubrication - Glassline Ceropal Swabbing Compounds For Opal Ware

VDV Lubricants of Belgium has developed a new range of special lubricants for production of opal glassware for a major EU glass maker. Up to now, the swabbing compounds used for production on IS machines for opal glass containers have usually been lubricants with low graphite content. Even for the production of cosmetic ware such as pots, non-graphite lubricants are sometimes used like Vaseline or cutting fluids to avoid rejects by black marks. With difficult articles, rejects for black marks on opal ware can reach 40%. "Ceropal", developed by VDV, is based on ceramic lubricants & eliminates waves & chill marks. Production figures have shown an important reduction in rejects. During testing, the product was also used as swabbing compound for "easier" production of pots, where a significant improvement in pack rate was observed. Email: info@vdv-lub.com
