Loadhog Wins Award For Bottle Stacking System

A system which could save the container glass industry millions of pounds a year has been named Yorkshire Innovation of the Year at the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards. Developed by Sheffield-based Loadhog, the Smartstak system prevents stacks of glass bottles from collapsing during transportation & has been praised by a leading glass bottle manufacturer as "the greatest advance in glass transportation in the last 20 years". More than one in a hundred bottle stacks collapse or become unstable in transit. Smartstak allows up to 11 layers of bottles to be stacked on a pallet, without any need for shrinkwrapping or horizontal banding. The system is being used by some of the UK's largest glass bottle makers, who move 6M bottles a week, without a single bottle being broken. Dave Arthur, Loadhog product manager, said: "We are delighted that Smartstak has been recognised as offering a total, one-stop solution to glass bottle manufacturers.
