Lg Philips Still Glassmaking

LG Philips Displays will still have two factories producing glass after the planned closure of its UK factory near Burnley. The firm also operates in Aachen in Germany and Capuava in Brazil. As well as closing the Burnley factory, LG will also close its CRT tube factory at Aachen. The firm says that while CRT is expected to remain the dominant technology for televisions, the market is tending towards rival technologies and prices for CRTs are falling. (whole item)
