According to a recent press report, the board of directors of the Kuwaiti United Investment Company are to set up a glass manufacturing facility near Damascus, Syria in a project said to be worth US$130m. Solaiman Al-Sultan, chairman of the board, said the entity would offer the new factory shares for public subscription. In addition, the Syrian-Kuwaiti joint ministerial committee decided to set up an industrial, agriculture and tourism investment holding venture in Damascus with US$200m capital. (whole item)
