Kazakhstand and Iran have agreed to build a new plant for the production and process ing of flat glass in Kyzylorda, southern Kazakhstan, according to reports citing the press service of the National Management Holding Baiterek. The agreement has been signed by Investment Fund of Kazakhstan and Kaveh Glass Industry Group, the biggest manufacturer of glass products in Iran. Kazakhstan's share in the project will be 49% with the Iranian company holding 51%. The project cost is estimated at US$ 284M. Construction of the new plant is set to begin very soon. Commissioning is scheduled for the third quarter of 2017. The plant will produce flat glass products such as toughened/tempered sheet glass, mirrors, energy saving glass with magnetron sputtering that comply with EU standards.
