[Kazakhstan] Container Glass Industry Urged To Expand

Only 15% of glass containers currently used in Kazakhstan is produced domestically. This was the recent findings of the MD of the National Agency for Export and Investment, Kaznex Invest said when speaking at a round table on the packaging industry of the country. Gaziza Shakhanov said that in Kazakhstan, there is only one factory producing glass containers and it is that which provides 15% of the total market, said to be worth a total of US$200M. The remaining 85% is presently filled by imports from Russia, Uzbekistan and China.
