Joint Venture In Mexico

Samsung Corning and Asahi Glass are proposing a US$30m plant in Mexico to provide finished glass production for TV and PC cathode ray tubes (CRTs). The venture is to be called Video Monitors de Mexico and will have an annual capacity of 9m CRTs when it starts production in the middle of 1998. Initially, glass from Samsung, Corning and Asahi will be processed at hte plant and it is planned that other customers will be added later.
