Joint Venture In Glassfibre

Glasselden of Germany, and Oniks, of Uzbekistan, are planning to set up Uzglasseiden, a joint venture glassfibre plant which is expected to produce about 8600 tonnes/year. New Europe reports that, according to Oniks, the DM85.6m project will require equipment costing DM58m. About half the output is intended for export, while the main customer in the domestic market is expected to be Kohbas-TAPO, an Uzbek-Swiss-German venture, which specialises in producing centrifugal non-metallic pipes.
