JD Wetherspoon has announced it has closed all of its social media channels, with the UK on-premise operator claiming that services such as Twitter and Facebook have become too addictive. "We are going against conventional wisdom that these platforms are a vital component of a successful business," said Wetherspoon chairman and founder Tim Martin, adding, "I don't believe that closing these accounts will affect our business whatsoever."
