Jarvakandi Klaas Opens New Plant

In order to double its factory's current production capacity, Estonian glassworks Jarvakandi Klaas has opened a new EKr100m workshop. To date, the factory has been producing 70-95 tons of glassware a day. According the the company's director, the new facility has one glass tank and two production lines, which were financed with loans from the Estonian Investment Bank and internal financing. The factory has increased its workforce from 160 to 250 people in connection with launching the new facility. Jarvakandi sells its products in Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and Norway. US glassmaker Owens-Illinois owns 82% of the shares in the company.
