Saint-Gobain, through Saint-Gobain Isover Austria, has purchased DBW srl, a leading Romanian producer of rock wool. Located in Ploiesti, approximately 60km north of Bucharest, DBW has sales of Euros 5.6M and around 100 employees. Saint-Gobain plans to invest Euros 25M locally to build a new glass wool production line with a capacity of 20,000/tpa. The investment will directly create 100 new jobs. The Isover brand, a world leader in insulation, is already established and well-known in Romania thanks to a sales and marketing team base in the country for several years. Saint-Gobain intends that this operation will boost Isover's growth dynamics in Eastern Europe. Half of the facility's production output will be for the domestic market, while the other half will supply other countries in the region. (whole item)
