Irn Bru Increases Bottle Deposit

The makers of popular soft drink Irn-Bru, have given consumer a further incentive to return empty bottles by increasing the cashback offer for empty glass bottles. Customers returning empties will be offered 30p instead of 20p in a bid to encourage more people to use the deposit scheme. The Scottish firm of A.G. Barr, who make the beverage, hopes it will help recycling & lead to an increase in the 3 in 10 bottles which don't make it back to the factory. Barrs' iconic glass bottle has been massively popular for 110 years, but increasingly people look for simple ways to shop responsibly & recycle & this new price change looks set to make it more appealing. As well as cashback offer of 30p/bottle the firm points out that every component in a Barr's glass bottle is recyclable or reusable, from its metal caps to the plastic crates bottles are delivered in.
