Iranian Refractories Merger

Mid-May 2004 saw the initiation of the expected merger of Iran's leading refractories companies to form a single group. The much-anticipated move came after discussion and debate on the subject for over a year. The four leading refractories companies of Iran that are to merge are: Azar Refractories Co, Pars Refractories Co, Iran Refractories Co and Iran Refractory Products Co. The conclusion of the merger is expected to take several months. Demand for refractories in Iran is increasing and the domestic market needs to respond.
