Investment In Surrian Fibre Plant

Germany's Lauscha Fiber International will invest EUR 10M to produce super thin fiberglass in the Vladimir region, according to a source on the local industry and science committee. The firm will set up a joining venture with Moscow regional company Stekloplastik for the project. "Production will start at Sudogodskoye Steklovolokno. About half of the investment is to be spent on technological equipment," a source commented, adding:"Stage one includes production of 2000 tonnes super fine fiber." Lauscha Fiber will then build a furnace to produce granules for fiberglass production, which was scheduled to begin late April 2006. The new plant should reach full capacity in 2008. Stekloplastik makes multi-functional fiberglass materials and composites.
