Investigation Of Flow Process In The Manufacture Of Container Glass With The Aid Of Model Liquids (In German)

A model technique has been used to study the flow processes in the forming of container glass. Heat exchange is treated in a simplified form as a problem of thermal conductivity and the model contact time os calculated with the similarity consitions of thermal conduction. Comparision of the flow profiles in the tube as a function of the contact time between the g;ass and model liquid shows close agreement. The processes in the blowing of a parison and the possibility of controlling them are discussed. The design of the parison mould is considered in detail in an attempt to determine conditions for uniform temperature and stress distribution in the parison.
