An Investigation Into The Effect Of Controlled Hot-End Surface Treatment On Opening Torques Of Aluminium Closures

The hot-end surface treatment on glass bottles has long been known to affect the removal torques of aluminium roll-on closures and roll-on pilferproof closures. In order to define a maximum acceptable limit, it was decided with cooperation from the GMF that a quantity of glass bottles with known levels of surface coating would be supplied to the three main closure manufacturers for evaluation in relation to closure removal torques.
