Insulation Installations

Lubisol Engineering has made two more installations of its monolithic crown insulation, bringing the total number of furnaces currently using the insulation to 54. The latest installations were on a float glass furnace in the USA and a container glass melter in Greece, designed by Nikolaus Sorg. Application of the insulation in both cases was simplfied by the recent change in the products packaging. The plastic barrels formerly used to transport the insulation have been replaced by 25kg plastic bags, making it possible to apply it by ramming the ready mixed material in place saving time and labour costs.
