Insulating Glazing That Breathes

Structura Duo R, a newly developed "breathing" version of the Structural system, is a point-fixed structural glazing system which has been successfully developed in recent years by Vertal, a Glaverbel subsidiary. Point-fixed structural glazing is a curtain walling technique that has become common in Europe for architects seeking maximum light and transparency in applications such as entryways, shopping arcades, atriums, passages and glass roofs. Four holes are drilled in the glass at the corners, which are then toughened or toughened-laminated to ensure good performance in terms of resistance. These are then attached directly to the load-bearing structure using specially designed clamps & fitting parts. The glazing units are then sealed by means of silicone mastic & gaskets, covering the exterior facade in a perfectly flat, smooth "glass skin."
